Engaging and informing users through language and symbols

How do you keep your users interested, engaged and informed (but not over-informed)? How do you avoid confusion and frustration when things go awry or become complicated? How do you test if your message is clear?

This talk will cover techniques and methods for user-experience copywriting. I will discuss some high-level principles of semiology (communication). We'll discuss communication strategies; utilizing copy that is understandable to your users. How to design and choose symbols that cross language barriers. We will look at case studies that look at a variety of copy-writing and communication challenges that can come up when designing and developing products and experiences.
